About us
Jan Willem specializes in advising family businesses, families, and their governance, as well as setting up and advising on employee benefit schemes. He also advises national and international companies on (corporate) governance and (cross-border) restructuring. In addition, Jan Willem is an advisor to companies and families in Curaçao, Bonaire, and Aruba.
Jan Willem was a partner at several (international) law firms before founding HVK Stevens Legal in 2013.
With a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of the legal and tax implications of complex transactions, he assists clients with a wide range of issues, from business succession and charitable causes to (family) governance issues.
In addition to his practice, Jan Willem is an active speaker at (international) seminars and conferences, a lecturer at Lefebvre Sdu training courses and Lexlumen, and editor-in-chief at LexLumen Modellen. Clients appreciate his clear communication, integrity, pragmatism, and ability to make complex matters accessible.
