HVK Stevens has represented and advised both the sellers and the company on the completion of the €450m (£398.1m/$484.2m) acquisition by Entain plc of Dutch operator BetCity from Sports Entertainment Media.
The buyer, Entain plc is a FTSE 100 company, active in more than 20 countries and five continents.
The deal grants Entain access to the Dutch regulated market, where BetCity was one of the initial 10 licensees and conquered the Dutch gaming market with former Dutch prof football players such as Andy van der Meijde, Wesley Sneijder, Wim Kieft, and Sjaak Swart as faces of the brand.
Corporate advisory specialist Partis helped negotiate the deal. In addition, HVK Stevens worked on this transaction in close cooperation with Sidley Austin, Proskauer Rose and Bureau Brandeis.
